Welcome!

The Holiday Hams Chapter 435 is a group of HRRVC members that gather together for fellowship and the enjoyment of ham (amateur) radio.  These enthusiasts joined together in 1995 and chartered their group on February 23, 1996.

Ham operators who like operating radios that operate on different radio frequencies then CB radios, or cell phones.   In order to become a ham, one must pass a written test showing knowledge of how radios work.  There are several classes or designations that show the level of expertise a ham has.  Morse code is no longer needed to get a license to operate a radio.  Licensed amateur radio examiners give test at many local ham clubs.  When enough examiners (VE) are available, testing can be done at the International rally.

We sometimes have a Re4ndezvous before the International rally.  This is a great time to get to know the other members of the chapter before getting caught up in all the activities of the rally.  At the rally, these hams carry their radios around the area and can report problems to the appropriate person for resolution such as a medical emergency.  Members also staff stations along the route for the Make-a-Wish Foundation walk.

A meeting and election of officers is held annually at the International rally.

The annual dues are $5.00 per unit due July of each year.  Contact one of the officers listed below if you are interested in joining the Holiday Hams Chapter  #435.
